Collection: Clearing Mind Poisons (kleśa)

In Zen, clearing the mind poisons (Sanskrit: kleśa) is a core part of the practice, aiming to achieve spiritual purification and liberation. Mind poisons usually refer to negative states that cause psychological and emotional distress, such as greed, anger, ignorance, etc.

Zen believes that these mind poisons are the root of suffering, and by eliminating them, inner peace and ultimate nirvana can be achieved.

This collection includes what Zen calls the mind poisons, namely greed, anger, ignorance, arrogance, doubt, and wrong views.

By looking directly at their existence and practicing mindfulness towards them, everyone can clear away our worries and achieve inner peace and ultimate liberation.
